I am unfamiliar with UNI-trunker and what all it does. I have heard that you can read the control channels of an 800mhz system and learn the system talkgroups as well as id's.
I have a couple of computers one with Windows XP and the other Windows 98. Yeah, I know the Windows 98 is a little outdate but still works well. Which computer would work best?
Also, I have a 796. Do I need any sort of special cables for hook up? How does this software work and are there any other types of software to use? Once I have the software do I use my 796 with it for scanning, etc?
Again a new subjest to me and any help/understanding is appreciated.
