ARC500: Software Refuses to update

I have the 1040 and 1065. The butel software showed an update available. Whenever I try to update nothing happens. It will download the zip file and I can get the exe file to do the updating, but it will not run. I run win 11.

Are you a registered user (paid to get the keys)? I had no problem updating with Windows 11.

Yes, for about 2 years now. I can download the file but when I click on it nothing happens. Desktop running windows 11. Laptop running windows 11. No problem.

Take a look at the file in the explorer. Windows Defender may think the file is unsafe and blocks the complete download. Other virus software may quarantine files. Try running the program as administrator. If that doesn't work, try this only if you have a record of the keys. There may be something in the original installation blocking the new version. Uninstall ARC500 from your computer. Try the new version again. Make sure you don't have ARC500 (Basic) and ARC500 Pro confused.

When you are "looking" at the downloaded file, via Windows Explorer, you can "see" the executable file when selecting the zip file. Make sure that you extract the *.exe file and run it that way, I would also right-click the extracted file & select to "run as administrator".

This is very confusing, is the installer software starting and updating the software yes or no ?
