Not much to do with radio outside of peripherally I suspect, but an interesting article on the upcoming solar eclipse next month from Britain's Telegraph:

Solar eclipse to disrupt power supplies - Telegraph

The article has a nice animation on the path of the eclipse and how it's mainly affecting Europe. Major concerns are possible disruptions to power distribution.

It appears the end of the eclipse may actually affect parts of Canada (PEI maybe?), so to our Canadian forum members, keep those batteries charged!

Quite the contrary - eclipses have major impacts on HF propagation and lower. During these times you might get short-term openings to other parts of the world not normally accessible because you are in local daylight. MW can get enhanced too
