Radio Shack, Lowes, Home Depot, Advanced Auto, Auto Zone, NAPA, and maybe a 100 other places near your location. You should need to solder at the most, 5 places.

Monty,

That is a lot of radio you are thinking of opening up and applying a soldering iron to. Do you really need to run Trunker? I am pretty sure I know what you are after and probably you could do just as well running ID Tracker software using the standard connection on the 796 without having to open it up to get at it. Just my $0.02.

If you really want to run trunker, do you have an older scanner that covers the frequency you are after, once you tie up the scanner using it with Trunker (although it doesn't really hurt the scanner) it does become useless for anything else while you are running Trunker with it. I mean either you run Trunker (or T4Win) with the scanner or you use it to listen to, you can't do both at the same time. :)

Hope this helps.

P.S. -- I think you know how to get hold of me off the board and I can give you some places you can find soldering stuff, etc.

Monty,

In the spirit of promoting the hobby, I have occasionally done this for several others and I will offer the same to you. I am kind of well known both here and on the Strong Signals site. I am fully qualified to do these mods for you. I am an electronic technician in the USAF with well over 20 years experience and have all of the equipment necessary to do SMT soldering and repair. As a matter of fact, I was stationed out at Ellsworth from 85 thru 94. If you supply all of the materials and pay for shipping both ways to and from from New Mexico, I'll do the mod for you.
