hello RR...am a fairly new owner of a 396t...have had great help in programming..live in San Diego..and my listening is at a all time high thanks to RR support ...Wanted to give something back...recently my 396t slipprd off the belt clip when getting of public transportation....after 30 seconds of leaving bus reached down..it was not there....after 3 seconds of crying...thought about flagging down a motorist and chasing down the bus..... ok..phoned the bus people....patched me through to dispatch..they radioed all #10 buses...30 min later a call back that it was recovered......did not take it out for a week after that....looked online for solutions at $30 and up.....walked into local "Harbor Freight Store"...this is what I found $4.99.....cell phone and small tool pouch....bought it to try....It is Perfect...radio fits in it it loops into your belt and has a velcro flap (see pics)......curve on flap allows for antenna.....for added protection used velcro straps for computer wires to wrap around flap $1.....link two straps together and vooooaalaaa!!!!!!!! i now travel with confidence ..ocassionally removing my hand off the radio...HAHAHA....will upload some pics for you.....if you dont have "Harbor Freight" near you try online or Email i will buy and mail it to you......mike..... in beautiful San Diego California

mine fell twice

so after that i just carry it in my pocket and its been used every day that way since 2005.
sure a little bit of the buttons are worn down. but it hasn't fallen since. i got it when i was working at a lumber yard and a lot of lumber slid across the front. no it does not look new but you would never guess how old it is.
so my vote is just for an empty pocket. but i do like your holder.

did i say shirt?

not the shirt pocket, the pants pocket.
most folks think i am a cop anyway.
over 6 foot, short hair, black shoes, scanner always on...
some have thought i was mp,pd,narc,fd,emt even store security,my kids even call me cop dad.
for some reason i have no trouble when i go out.
hey just have fun.

Just make sure to use the LOOP for belt use, as the clips can be bumped up and off without notice! I have a cell phone case with the clip and loop, and find the loop to be the most secure.
