It's not often when replacing a car radio, you power it up and the first thing you hear is some sporadic E skip!

7/22
Norfolk, Nebraska
Plain old Ford car radio in a Ford Fiesta

KNEV 95.5 Reno, NV/w rap song, very strong, fighting with semi local KLGI Sioux City, Ia KG 95. TOH ID
KHIX 96.7 Mix 96.7 Elko, NV/w Sheryl Crow, various commercials about various Elko businesses, stong.
KVFX 94.5 Logan-Salt Lake City, Ut w/Ed Sheeran, Bad Habits, full quieting, RDIS ID in excellent stereo.

Could very well be. The dx lasted well after sunset. But wouldn't the Rockies act as a barrier for tropo??
Not sure how the Rockies would effect the signal. We always start getting Tropo in Kansas City on VHF and UHF ahead of a cold front. Thanks for the heads up I think I'll tune around the FM broadcast and NOAA channels to see what I can pickup before the front gets here tomorrow. (y)

Hello AB51D from northern Wisconsin. Great post. Just picked up a used 2008 Sony XDR -S10HDP on the ebay. Hit Zeeland Michigan Joy 99 fm. Christan station 302 miles from qth. Greatest FM recevier ever made. No fade off hitting a discone at 30 feet. Now fm skip just opened up. Here we go!
