It seems the ALS in Somerset County went to a new trunked system?? Can anyone tell me what the new frequency they dispatch and talk on?

thanks! Does that mean I cannot pick them up on a conventional scanner? I notice the frequencies are different- (I am not familiar with trunked systems)

68,

You could pick them up on a conventional scanner, if you program in all the listed frequencies, lock out the control channel, and have a quick finger on the scan button to bypass conversations you're not interested in monitoring. It's a pain in the buttocks.

To effectively monitor the system you'll need a trunking capable scanner.

If you only want to hear the pages, you can still get by with a conventional scanner. County pages them out on:

470.1375 PL 167.9

Other agencies paged out on this freq includes:

SMC BLS & ALS
22 Fire & Rescue (Bernardsville)
43 Fire (Martinsville)
45 Fire (Montgomery #1)
50 Fire General Only (North Plainfield)
Somerset County HazMat Team
Minebrook Search & Rescue

SMC's ALS still talks to the town they're responding in to on their individual frequency. However, if you want to hear SMC ALS talk to county, they talk on the TRS on EMS Region 1 (14416)
