I noticed that Somerset FD is showing a couple of newer VHF narrow band channels. They use to be on low band (46.18 as I remember). My real question is - are they on the EDACS system, or are they on the VHF high band frequency? I drove through Somerset yesterday and the system audio sounded like patched audio. I also noticed FD traffic on various
02-*** AFS groups, not the 15-*** listed in the RR database.

Might anyone have any updated information on this system? I drive 13 & 50 frequently while visiting my son at college, and am curious about the system. Thanks much!

Somerset County operates on the 800MHz EDACS System. They also Multicast on VHF for Fire Calls like many others so the VHF Fire Pagers can be issued and used by responders. They also have a few full time fixed talk groups with Worcester County that are networked via "MESIN" for interoperability.

When you see the 20XX tg, that is typically a SAID (Site Assigned ID) which the system assigns for soft patches.
