Are you sure you have the system programmed correctly? The system is very busy these days.

You have a 106 I see - do you use Win500? If so, I can take a look at your programming for you...

Guys,

Not sure when this change happened, but all of the end of last week I noticed that Raritan was now being dispatched full-time by county, and that they are using the identifier of '16' (that makes perfect sense, as it's their municipality code).

Also, Peapack & Gladstone PD have started ID'ing as '15' cars on PD NORTH. Has there been any other changes that I missed?

EDIT - Also, Branchburg is now on the TRS on PD REGION 5. Trying to figure out what TGID that is right now...

Phonetic Alphabet Designators are no more.

As of this morning, all the police departments being dispatched by the County are using the last two digits of the NJ Municipality number. Only exception at this time is when South Bound Brook is in Rocky Hill, they were told to continue to use 'Rocky' until changes are made in the computer system. Here's the municipality number list for the entire county:

  • BEDMINSTER TWP - 1801
  • BERNARDS TWP - 1802
  • BERNARDSVILLE BORO - 1803
  • BOUND BROOK BORO - 1804
  • BRANCHBURG TWP - 1805
  • BRIDGEWATER TWP - 1806
  • FAR HILLS BORO - 1807
  • FRANKLIN TWP - 1808
  • GREEN BROOK TWP - 1809
  • HILLSBOROUGH TWP - 1810
  • MANVILLE BORO - 1811
  • MILLSTONE BORO - 1812
  • MONTGOMERY TWP - 1813
  • NORTH PLAINFIELD BORO - 1814
  • PEAPACK GLADSTONE BORO - 1815
  • RARITAN BORO - 1816
  • ROCKY HILL BORO - 1817
  • SOMERVILLE BORO - 1818
  • SOUTH BOUND BROOK BORO - 1819
  • WARREN TWP - 1820
  • WATCHUNG BORO - 1821

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9930; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.11+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/7.1.0.163 Mobile Safari/534.11+)

Thanks Mike for confirming that, and that change was a long-time coming!

I've got the database updated with the new talkgroups, and I'll edit their conventional entry after I get home from work later...

Yeah, it's going to take awhile to get used to this change. As long as I can remember, South Bound Brook was always 'Sierra' cars. There's gonna be a lot of old habits to break with this change. I'm guessing that Raritan didn't want to be known as 'Papa' cars, and Somerville (to convert over this year) didn't want to be known as a 'Romeo' cars.

I still say North Plainfield would of been the worst if they were to transition over... haha

It appears that the county is messing with the badge numbers too. I heard some different numbers for our PD today, 1930 and 1931. 1931 sounded like old Sierra 12.

Also, county is changing the entire callsign / rig numbering system for all the rescue squads. I'll post the info as I get it.

New GTR8000 Update

The Motorola GTR8000 repeaters have been installed all with the new 500 MHZ freqs.

Two old channels, 6&7 have been turned off.

I do not believe they have been turned up yet due to Ch 6 & 7 issues.

If I am not mistaken, I think there were about 7 new GTR's each site.

I've also noticed the control channel showing up on other frequencies full-time as well (used to be almost always on 501.9125, and then 502.6875 rarely).

Doug Rue gave a talk at our last RVRC meeting at the academy, and a tour of 99M. He mentioned that they are also planing a serious second-wave of console deployments as part of the P25 upgrade, so that leads me to believe that quite a few more towns are going to come over this year...

I've been seeing the CC sit on 502.8375 a lot lately personally.

Also, 11760 (2DF): Montgomery DPW? Not in the database, and it's the only municipality with a "Main Blvd" as was being discussed on the TG. I locked it out (because they were annoying me), but perhaps someone can confirm and then update the database.

9600 CC Now on Air!

I see the 9600 side is being turned up.

The old Countywide Simulcast Analog 476.0625 is now on the air
with Site ID 0457H-0103. 9600 P25.

Any ideas on what the custom table one might use to set up an
additional system using the six new 500 MHZ freqs?

The TGID 727 is currently simulcasting transmissions from Raritan PD's analog talkgroup. I'm going to stay on top of this for the rest of the evening (so much for getting some Battlefield 3 play time in!)...

custom table

can you break down all that data to a custom table?

I would like to set up a seperate system.

upper lower offset spacing?

thanks!

I stand corrected on TG 727 - Raritan is NOT being simulcast off the main system, they are using the P25 site full time!

What scanner are you using? If it's a Pro-96/Pro-2096, I can't help you on figuring out the tables. All other scanners should figure that data out automatically...

The TGID tables should be 1-to-1 as this progresses. (i.e. look at the HEX value on the current system and it should be the same on the new system). I already have my feed scanning the new P25S system (and will likely leave it up full-time as progress continues) in ID SEARCH mode.

Happy scanning!

As Scott said, if you have P25-Auto as an option then select it. You'll have to program it as a separate system even if you don't want to -- all scanners require different custom tables for the two systems, if not a wholly different system selected during the programming process.

If you have a 96/2096, try:

Base=470.00000, step=12.5, offset=20480, ChLo=20480, ChHi=24575
Base=500.00000, step=12.5, offset=24576, ChLo=24576, ChHi=28671
Base=502.00000, step=12.5, offset=28672, ChLo=28672, ChHi=32767

These should work until/unless out-of-band frequencies are added (<470 or >512) or until the system changes its tables. I'm only an amateur here but the 502 table's existence surprises me since the 500 table can theoretically handle up to about 550MHz at the specified step. (P25 tables can handle many more channels than Motorola tables.)

If anyone has any trouble inputting the above tables, first make sure that your scanner can trunktrack P25 trunked systems. Some old models can receive P25 audio on conventional or Motorola trunked but cannot track P25 trunked systems. Second, make sure your scanner has the latest firmware.

Holy crap, I didn't even notice that!

Another one to add: Caught Z9 calling in service on TG 503 (which, look at that, comes out to 1F7 in hex). So we can add that as the Sheriff Dispatch TG.

Also briefly caught activity on 729, but it was probably just a 1600-car accidentally keying up on their Ops 2 channel, because the next transmission was only seconds later on 727.
