Here are a couple of RID’s that are “odd cat’s”.

RID 758 & 1813188

Can’t make heads nor tails, anyone care to speculate with me?

758 is an F&S radio that seems like it wants to float between their TG and the Rangers TG. Those can change county agency hands from time to time. Probably an old XTS2500 1.5 since that is what F&S runs. 1813188 would be a Montgomery Police mobile. In reviewing my logs, I see that this radio was last on the Rangers TG less than a week ago. I do not want to jump to false conclusions since that area is not mine of expertise; however, with all LE switching to 700, none have purchased multi-band mobile radios let alone more than a scarce amount of capable portables, in addition to anything beyond the Events TGs being part of their channel plans with respect to county services.

Interesting. I see 758 on TG 649 that is not in DB. TG 649 shows little activity. I note it is in the vicinity to CW Events TG’ids. I also see RID 1813188 here. No other RID’s.

Thanks for DB sub for Somerset Schools TG 649. This TG along with RID 758 are the sole occupants of 649. No grants either. This goes back to early summer. Odd as it makes little sense. Some type of alerting for one location perhaps?

I am not sure. The only district in Somerset County that I know maintains trunked radios is Franklin Township Public Schools, but those are limited to the Franklin Township TRS. SchoolSAFE sort of idea, except they have the direct P25 access. Schools only use the system for emergencies or communication with FTPD; otherwise, just an average professional radio. What does that look like? Unknown. Have yet to see it. Perhaps it'll be more informative when the switch happens.

SROs stick to their assigned primary TGs or local PD frequency for the non-TRS municipalities, so this is not for them. When disaster strikes like the Watchung Hills HS incident last year, Countywide PD is the common LE denominator. Warren PD should have enough radios now to not commit war crimes of patching analog into P25 through a receiver in Somerville... if you listened to this event from the TRS side, you may be entitled to financial compensation.
