Site 3 the 500 MHZ cell is seeing much talk activity on Countywide 4 TG 645.

It sounds like in building communications as coverage is fair to poor at times and fades in and out. Very casual and first names. Some shenanigans too. Are you there, are your there big guy. Come in come in. Not emergency services.

Activity starts at 6AM and ends late evenings, there are hundreds of channel grants.

For a system that is talk path limited for Fire and EMS (return to legacy or Tac) I am surprised to see this activity. Any guesses?

Radio ID’s are all over the place.

This is an off-season event for those in the FIRST Robotics Competition (event information for the curious). They are operating in the area of the Bridgewater Commons Mall. RIDs are all over the place because the radios they are using come from an SCC/OEM cache. Don't worry, they're XTS 1500/2500s. The 3- and 4-digit RIDs should be a dead giveaway that they're not the latest and greatest APX radios.

Referring to it as Countywide 4 is misleading because it is not a critical interop TG like Countywide PD (933), Fire Interop (935), and EMS Interop (937). The official nomenclature for this TG is EVENTS 4, which comes from the family of EVENTS 1-4. The primary goal of these TGs is to provide means for event-based communications for multiple agencies, PS or non-PS.

While they are using one or more talkpaths to complete their event communications, I am sure that parameters are in place to limit their impact should a major incident spring up elsewhere in the county. Applying TG prioritization, limiting the event TG only to the necessary site (keeping them from turning a TDMA pair FDMA on 700), and overall policing of their usage by REMU, it is under control.

The hits for Saturday were almost a total of 700 channel grants, all FDMA.

Under control, I doubt it, just playing the odds is my guess.
