Somerville FD freq's

[SCPD]

Looking for Somerville Fire... Metrofire shows 483.3875 (131.8) as channel 1. 483.2625 (131.8) as channel 2. Which is the same as Metrofire Blue. Also found 483.4125 (131.8) as channel 3. Any info would be helpful. THANKS to all!

483.3875 PL 131.8 is Sommerville FD's main channel.

As state channel 1 is dispatch, channel two is sommerville fireground, it is repeated, whereas blue is simplex only. Channel 3 is Medford FD

I listen to Medford FD on 153.89R.

483.4125 is Reading FD & Wayland FD. Somerville FD might use it very infrequently as a spare channel.

153.89 is a "statewide fireground" its actually used by a whole host of agenices, Medford included. You will find it is used by Revere, Everett, and Chelsea also. I also believe most of the Belmont Control agenices have it also. Its a good frequency to have programmed.

153.89 used to be Boston Ch. 2 fireground, way back. Ther frequency 153.83 is the national low power fireground for vhf. Medford applied for the frequency when Boston went uhf. Boston uses the 153.89 in the MBTA underground only. It is piggybacked on the T system. Supposedly to change when T goes 800.
