Something's off

Arrived in town. Having a helluva time connecting my bcd 396xt to Kauai's trunked system. I see the rebranding, which this scanner is supposed to overcome. It ain't. I do hear a control ch of 853.3000, but that's it. I can't hear a thing.

Please advise my novice-***.

Have you tried the other control channels? It looks like there are 3 sites

Yep. From where I am in Poipu, nothing but static.

I'd have to check my logs from when I was in poipu a few years ago to see what they were using then.

Not sure why it works, but it does:

In Freescan, the overall System Type is set Mot Type II /P25, all General opt set checked.
In the Site (Simulcast) of [this part of the Is.], Site Type is set Mot Custom/Reband Type II,
w/ System Band Plan set Lower Freq. 851.02500, Upper Freq. set 854.0000, Step 25.0, Offset 440.

Somehow, it all works. All TG's light up.
