I picked up Sonar Model FR-105 and a Heath Model GR-110 at the Benson Hamfest. Want to try and clean them up and get them working again. Anyone got any service information on them? I know the Sonar uses 10.245 IF and pretty sure the Heath uses 10.7 or "type 1" crystals. Also the Sonar has a round tube like power connector on the rear. From what i have read that is an early model. Any help thanks in advance.

The Sonar FR-105 has a 10.7 MHz first IF. The 10.245 MHz crystal you saw is for conversion to the second IF, 455 kHz (10.7-10.245=0.455).

The power connector on the back of the Sonar FR-105 is 11 pins and was used on relays made back in the '60s and '70s. You might find some of these connectors at surplus dealers.

If you need further data on the Sonar, send me a PM.
