I have a Sony NVU-44 GPS. I was trying to find a way to convert Garmin .gpi files to the .smf file that Sony seems to use, as I would like to load these Garmin waypoints into the Sony. Anyone have any suggestions as to what to use? I'm not entirely sure I'm right in the file tpes I'm mentioning, but in browsing the Sony it's the only file I can find.

Thanks,
Brent Toth

If your Garmin displays lats and longs and your Sony allows you to enter lats and longs, then you could transfer your waypoints manually.

Yes, but there's about 23000 of them. Really don't want to do that manually. Plus I don't have a Garmin, the file was emailed to me by a coworker.

I think you must be talking about POI's and not Waypoints.

Thats alot of Data.

It would be nice if there was a standard file format, but it seems Sony has to always do their own thing.
