OK I still have my 1970's analog stereo gear. A DENON PMA630 amplifier and AVID-105 speakers. My TV feeds via TOSLINK a ****T MODI D/A convertor. I want to add two gadgets:

1) A means to detect analog stereo audio from the D/A and activate a power switch relay to turn on the amplifier and then time out after 15 or 30 minutes inactivity
2) A remote stereo volume control that works with IR or wireless (not BT or an "APP")

Wife bought a soundbar last year and it is awful. Want decent audio option that she does not have to turn on and adjust manually. .

I use an old Crown D75A audio amplifier and JBL 4406 speakers on one of my newer smart TVs and needed a way to turn on the stereo amplifier which is not easy to reach. Most new TVs have a USB connector that outputs 5v when the TV is on, so I cut apart a USB cable and fed the USB 5V to a solid state relay that has a 2-30v trigger and the solid state relay turns on my audio power amp whenever the TV is on. I then used a cheap TOSLINK to analog audio converter to feed the amplifier audio input. Not exactly the setup your looking for but it did simplify turning the audio amp on and off and it sounds good.

I put the Teladyne solid state relay in a box with AC outlet and a hole for the USB and AC power input cable to stick out. If I had to do it again I would stick a chassis mount USB and IEC power connector on the box so I could use any USB and computer cable and not have to cut the end off the USB and power input cable.

The speakers in these new generation TV's are awful. Hard to believe SONY is not embarrassed by the awful performance. My old Sony Bravia (SK 04/15/2022 lightning RIP) had outstanding audio and it rivaled my stereo. We bought a sound bar with subwoofer and the audio sounds muffled and compressed, plus there is an array of DSP audio settings that are never right.
