In Sentinel...Edit tab...Sort Favorite Lists. Once any changes made, x out and you'll be prompted to Save. Once you do, it will change in left column. Is there a way to sort the favorites list in Sentinel, Butel or ProScan so, when I enter the "Select Lists to Monitor" screen on the scanner, it is sorted numerically or alphabetically?
Thanks
I have never used Butel, but. I do have ProScan n' Sentinel(for Firmware and HPDB updates). Is there a way to sort the favorites list in Sentinel, Butel or ProScan so, when I enter the "Select Lists to Monitor" screen on the scanner, it is sorted numerically or alphabetically?

He ment sort the different favorite lists, not what's inside a favorite list.In ProScan
In ProScan, you can either drag the Favorites nodes to where you want them or use the Utilities menu Sort and sort the Favorites nodes there. Write to the scanner afterwards. Is there a way to sort the favorites list in Sentinel, Butel or ProScan so, when I enter the "Select Lists to Monitor" screen on the scanner, it is sorted numerically or alphabetically?

That's the History Log. The OP is asking about the FL.I have never used Butel, but. I do have ProScan n' Sentinel(for Firmware and HPDB updates).
In ProScan, I can sort, by TGID, by Frequency, by Tone, by RSSI, by UID, by Mod., by Hits, by Duration, by Start Date/Time, by End Date/Time, by System/Site, by Department, by Channel, by System Type, by Digital Status, by Service Type.
Yes. In Sentinel, I have mine arranged/sorted by quick key (ascending) . I also label my fav lists with the quick key in the label so sorting alphabetically works for me also. Pretty sure @ProScan can do the same and would imagine Butel also.
I have not figured out how to easily enable and disable sites. If you do that with quick keys, I'd love to hear how.I do it on fav lists as well as systems and sites. Very useful when you have a lot of stuff.
Thanks. I'll give this a try this week. When I am home, I use a single control channel that is on our state system that I receive great. I'm also at a spot where three state police troops sort of meet so I use that single control channel. I'd like to learn how to enable and disable sites easily so when I'm working on the road, all that time isn't spent scanning control channels that are not in range. It's like tying knots. A little challenging at first, but once you've done it a few times, you don't give it much thought. Here is how:
Site Quick Keys are at the "Department Level". So generally, it would be better to not use the same number for a Site Quick Key as you would for a Department Quick Key. (But there are exceptions to that rule.)
So let's say you have a Favorites List with a Favorites List Quick Key of 1. In that Favorites List you have a System with a System Quick Key of 2. Then within that System (which is within the Favorites List), you have three sites using 61, 62 and 63 as Site Quick Keys.
If you want to toggle the Site with the 61 Quick Key, your key press sequence would be 1.2.61 eYes. (You have to be scanning - if you have held either System/Department/Channel, the scanner will think you are doing a different operation - a Number Tag.) Also, you have to be careful to not turn off all the Site Quick Keys at the same time or you'll get the "Nothing to Scan" message. And the periods are important separators so the scanner doesn't get confused.
Great info on using the dot. Thanks. Also if the scan cycle are in that FL you can skip the 1 but keep the dot and do .2.61.E
And if you already are in that system, perhaps you have made a Hold on it, then only the last digits are necessary ..61.E
/Ubbe
But never any dot before the E. I made a mistake and it should say ..61EGreat info on using the dot. Thanks.
A GPS receiver connected to your scanner can change your life. Believe me.I'd like to learn how to enable and disable sites easily so when I'm working on the road, all that time isn't spent scanning control channels that are not in range.

Truth! I love that I can just let the scanner do the work while I'm driving and I don't have to fiddle with any of it.Gps is the simplest way as once set up, you really don't have to do anything.
