Trying to get my computer back to normal(see other thread) I tried my media player today, video is there but no audio. I have a digital optical cable from the PC to a audio receiver. When I click on the little speaker at the bottom of the tool bar I see the EQ moving but no audio. Could it be possible there are no drivers installed for the sound card? I really hate starting over from a new hard disc. Maybe I'm wrong assuming windows would have installed the drivers but then again Dell sent me a new hard drive. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Well it wasn't my audio drivers little PC speakers work so I went back to the analog hookup stiff baffled as to why digital optical cable doesn't work.

i got your PM AC, sent you a reply.

To further that reply, with this information here. if the SPDIF-TOSLNK Device did not have the driver, it would not be functioning at all. with you telling me the Volume bar is showing a response, then it is working, just mis-configured either from the card or a windows setting as i explained in the PM
