I need a replacement BNC mount for my Radio Shack Pro-83 handheld scanner.

The first picture on the left is what the old one looks like that I removed just now.

I can find a bunch like in the right picture, but as you can see, the threads are below the plate while the one I removed has the threads above the plate.

Any ideas where I can get one? Or does anyone think the other style would work as a replacement?

Thanks Tim! Not much luck finding one.... it appears that the front mount is the most common.

I think I could make the front mount work and they are only a few bucks on eBay.

I bought one at Fry's a year ago. It's the bolts from the rear but has longer threading than the one pictured. It a Pan Pacific product.

Yeah did that... couldn't find one that looked the same on Mouser... and Googled for rear mount as well... just not seeing anything close to the same, one thing a Google search found was: BNC Bulkhead Rear Mount | Allied Electronics, Inc

None of those look like they are the same.

This is a old well beat scanner, even if I have to mod things a bit to make it work I am thinking one of these:

BNC Female Bulkhead Mount RF Radio Connector USA Seller | eBay

or

BNC Female Bulkhead Mount Connector by W5SWL ® | eBay

Can anyone tell me what is different between the two eBay jacks linked above?

They look slightly different, but the specs don't hint as to what is different about them..

I am leaning to the second one as the nut appears to be more flush to the ring and might fit better.

they look one in the same. The stem looks like it will fit alittle longer in the case but if you have the room, in the case, you should be good to go,

I went with this one:

BNC Female Bulkhead Mount Connector by W5SWL ® | eBay

Like I said this scanner is old and beat but still works fine so I am not opposed to using the Dremel tool and epoxy to get it to work in the case. :)

Thanks for the help!

Threads merged. Please don't ask the same question in more than one thread. Thanks.
