Well after having the 800 Megz in my scanner for over a year now and not hearing a peep, I Asked a worker for the Potomac Eagle. What he told me was that they are on the 400 Megahertz range Trunked system. Now my question is which band would this be under. UHF or Government? I ask this because they are a state RR so thats what leads me to think of the government band. PLEASE HELP!!!

Just guessing hear, but I'd look for a local LTR system, perhaps owned by a radio shop in the area. Other than the IRP, UHF trunked systems in this state are largely commercial LTR systems.

wm8s, I think you are probably right. Somehow I did a search (don't ask me how, I can't remember, sorry) The following is listed for Two Way Radio Service (WV) System (LTR) Romney:

01-461.9625
02-463.4625
03-463.8825
04-464.4375
05-464.9625

Also are listed are systems in Beverly, Petersburg, and Mt Storm.
That would seem to fit the 400mhz frequencies that danstrainz got from the train crew.
danstrainz, please let us know if that works for you. I visit that area about once a year.
