South Camp Pendleton has a major fire bordering Oceanside. They are evacuating housing area around Papagallo street in Oceanside and various housings north along Vandegrift. Something going on in Fallbrook also but so much radio traffic for CP it's hard to follow it all.
Much traffic on SD RCS NTAC 1 and MCBCP 380MHz TRS related to the fire. Many CDF and CNF resources being called also. Lots of apparent communications problems between Camp Pendleton and CDF, SDC resources. Sounds like they are trying to set up on VHF White 1 or 3 (my head is spinning trying to follow everything, sorry!). New Evacuation site is El Camino High School. Too much going on for me with my hunt-and-peck typing skills - sorry!
Lots of dark smoke plumes visible from my house! Sounds like they are missing some game wardens in Camp Pendleton. Trying to deal with saving horses also - sounds like they are just going to let them loose now. MCBCP TRS seems to be going nuts with traffic now. Sounds like a LOT of confusion between the MCBCP PMO's. PMO tac 3 is heavy with traffic concerning the horses.
With all this I can't sift out anything about Fallbrook - I just caught some traffic earlier on that and not much afterwards. Sounded like the CDF and CNF folks were not sure at the time if the fire in Fallbrook was part of the Camp Pendleton south fire or a separate one.
New traffic on MCBCP TRS PMO Tac 3 - very excited users now - wanting to evacuate everybody - horses getting in the way.
ExSmokey and all FD an PD folks out there - you guys EARN your pay! I for one sure do appreciate your efforts and only gain more of an appreciation for those efforts by listening to my radios during these events!

Update: SDC RCS NTAC 7 and NCMD 1 also very active with traffic related to this fire. Lots of evacuation procedures going on. Air traffic on 170.000MHz. Some refueling issues, water drops, etc. Heavy winds here really blowing the smoke towards the southwest. Pretty nasty looking to my north. I hear the aircraft but cannot see them. Traffic on SDC RCS LE Northtac 4 - evacuation procedures. Oceanside PD trying to coordinate with MCBCP PMO's. Heard traffic on 170.000MHz stating that the fire jumped the road and has burnt 50 acres. Some houses on fire heard earlier.
