South Johnson County manhunt

Monitoring Johnson County Sheriff South Zone. They recieved a call of shots fired in the area, someone saw a white male running in the area of 183rd Street and Nall with a rifle. KHP 650 is in the air checking and dispatch is getting PING information from the believed suspect's cell phone company.

KHP, Leawood, OP, are all assisting the SO currently. JOCO ECC has deployed COM1 and is en route.

Anyone else monitoring this morning?

200M NE of 180th Street and Nall, is the latest PING information and KHP 650 is on the ground at Executive Airport for fuel.


EDIT: SO now advising they have had phone contact with the subject, and can hear another males voice and a barking dog. Command post being established at 179th and Metcalf.

South Zone just released KHP 650. As far as I have heard there is still no one in custody. I did miss a small period (approx 5 minutes), power went off for some reason or another and was left with only my handheld which was already scanning North Zone, and I am new to Trunk tracking on the handheld so it took me a minute to switch over to South Zone. lol good night

Last I heard the suspect made contact with one of the Deputies that had called him earlier this morning and informed him that he was "dumping the phone". Took him a while but he finally figured out that his phone is how they kept coming close to catching him.

Apparently there is some work being done on some powerlines east of my home, There are two KCPL trucks down the street and I keep losing power for 5 minute periods. Time to get some sleep.
