I’ve seen on SMFRs pulsepoint recently ‘COMM’ callsigns, assigned to the BMW Golf public service calls. I also saw one assigned last month with IDT31 on a public service.

So far it’s been SMCOMM33, SMCOMM40, SMCOMM44.

Anyone know what these are / used for?

Thanks

SMCOMM units represent SMFR Dispatchers who are not on the Incident Dispatch Team, while IDT units represent Dispatchers who are. At the BMW there was a remote dispatch center in use and they chose to assign the personnel to the CAD incidents. You might see them pop up at more community engagements where they provide 911 education.

What does CAD stand for and can you here that on a scanner? Is it phase 1 or 2
CAD stands for computer aided dispatch which is where PulsePoint sources its information. CAD is separate from the radio system, which is DTRS Phase 1 and what you hear on PulsePoint.
