Southeast Texas Band Opening

Hearing all Houston UHF channels, about half the Starnet sites, Montgomery County and most Entergy sites as well from Navasota with a rubber duckey on the Pro96 inside my house. Haven't tried VHF, and won't be able to.

I was getting the usual skip I get around here--from Houston. I was getting HFD, HPD, and Cy-Creek VFD. I was playing with a handheld marine radio I fixed, and was listening to the WX Channels. I got Austin, Palestine, Waco, Palacius, Beaumont, and Huntsville. Nothing really that unusual for around here (in fact, I have a lot of Houston-area freqs on my 996 and 796).

Last night I was in Durant Oklahoma and keying a Repeater in Flower Mound, TX on UHF on a 40W Mobile. Significant band openings indeed!

The past couple nights and early mornings I've been hearing the Texas City DPS dispatch from San Marcos/ New Braunfels. That's about 185 miles.
