I have noticed that when monitoring Edison's system the dispatchers have a "digital" sound to their voices. Field units sound analog.....are they changing over to digital soon?
Ok, I'm loading the file, that would be pretty cool .thanks for sharing. The underground vault that serves my neighborhood blows 3 or 4 times a year. Every time it does blows, power is out for at least 2 hours so I find it worthwhile to keep SCE programmed in my radio. It's nice knowing if I need to purchase additional batteries or ice.
I wouldn't keep wondering.I can't recall how I figured out it was SCE, though.
I find listening to any utility companies worth listening to in some circumstances. I live in a rural area and winter storms can bring down the power. I want to know how long the outage might be so I start listening to them when the power goes out. I also listen to them during winter storms (lots of snow when we aren't having a drought) as they often describe what a storm is doing. I can hear units in Santa Barbara, Ventura and the Visalia areas and often here what an approaching storm is doing. I don't listen to SCE for entertainment purposes, but do get information I need.Starman, Is Edison worth listening to ? I was thinking about adding this TRS to my software...but was wondering if its worth the work to enter it all. lost R.S.O. Jan so could fill my old bank.
