Southern Ocean County Police Coverage

Can someone please tell me who provides police coverage for the following towns in the southern part of Ocean County:

Mystic Island, Tuckerton & West Tuckerton.

Also, does Great Bay Regional EMS cover these towns and all of Little Egg Harbor ?

Tuckerton Borough has their own small police department. The other 2 sections (Mystic Island and West Tuckerton) are parts of Little Egg Harbor Township. Great Bay EMS covers Little Egg Harbor Township, Tuckerton Borough, Eagleswood Township, and Bass River Township as well as the Garden State Parkway from about MP 48 to MP 62. They also cover Warren Grove which is part of Stafford Township.

Thank you bigreddawg76. A couple of more questions for you and I will leave you alone. Does Eagleswood Twp. have their own PD or does another agency provide coverage ? Maybe State Police Troop A ? Also, who dispatches Tuckerton PD and on what frequency ?

For Stations 48 - Warren Grove, 52 - Eagleswood, 70 - Parkertown, 71 - West Tuckerton, and 72 - Mystic Island - I have the information on who dispatches them, but can you tell me if they are dispatched on Fire Low Band 33.780 or have they gone to the new UHF 508.1875 freq. Also are their fireground ops on low band or on the Tuckerton Tower Repeater ?

And thanks for all your help. I live in Brick and can't receive the extreme southern part of the county on my scanner, but I'm trying to update my personal scanner guide. Your information is greatly appreciated.

NJSP Troop C Tuckerton Barracks covers Eagleswood (a little trivia: Tuckerton Barracks was considered part of Troop A until this past summer). 3-Comm TG on the Troop C system (36560 for Uniden scanners). Tuckerton is dispatched by Little Egg Harbor Police on 506.8625 (203.5 PL). You will hear them as "32-xx" or just "2-xx" as opposed to Little Egg cars that are "16-xx". Station 50 (Tuckerton), 71, & 72 are still dispatched on the 33.780 but sign on and have their ops on the Tuckerton tower conventional repeater at 506.7125 (155 DPL). Station 52 just received a grant to buy the pagers and radios to transition to the UHF ops channel. Eventually all of them will be flashing the radios over to the TRS. I honestly have no idea about Station 48. I never hear them dispatched or on the air but saw one of their engines sitting on the ramp 2 weeks ago.

Hi guys,

Here's an interesting note, the SPNJ Tuckerton barracks is located along Rte. 9 So. in Eagleswood right next to the chair house. No, it's not a SOC redneck honkey-tonk, it's a house with a chair on the roof. And you thought it was in Tuckerton quite a few miles south of Eagleswood. BTW, we call it "Mistake Island" for good reason. (;->) Oh, the barracks is closed at night and calls routed to Glouster. Uh huh, a real Mayberry operation but a great place to live, I really miss the place. BTW, the whole area has a long history of wireless operations, check out the local museum in Tuckerton and WSC, the coastal marine station at the foot of Murphy Road in West Creek. Pronounce it "crick" or they'll peg you as a damnyankee. (;->)
