Thank you, that is what I wanted to know.Really surprising that they talk on VHF to the ground station

The voice repeater downlink is 437.800 but you need to start at 437.810 to account for Doppler shift at the beginning of the pass. It’s very busy and easy to hear with a decent antenna.

Those are the amateur radio frequencies. You can only hear them the short time when they go overhead which is not very often.
The main frequencies up & down are in the KU Band well out of normal scanner range. There are some 200-300 Mhz they use for spacewalks, dockings, etc. I have never heard them. Again these need to be overhead to be heard.
