• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello all- recently I have had two moto PMMN4039A speaker misc that will transmit when connected to the ht1250/750 but will receive no audio. I have ruled out the radios as being the issue...both of these mics were very gently used, all pins are intact and extended

Get out the meter

Hello all- recently I have had two moto PMMN4039A speaker misc that will transmit when connected to the ht1250/750 but will receive no audio. I have ruled out the radios as being the issue...both of these mics were very gently used, all pins are intact and extended
If I'm not mistaken, that mike has an audio jack that you can plug a little earpiece into. Maybe rust, dirt, or cosmic dust has corroded or caused a bad connection on that. Get a 3.5mm jack and plug and unplug it a few times and see if it brings it back. If it does, cut the end off a Q-tip, soak the end in a little alcohol, (not Maker's Mark), and stick the cut end in there and try to clean it out. You could also just put alcohol on the end of the 3.5mm jack, but I do it the first way.

If that don't rectify it, identify which pin on the mike connector is the speaker, and ring it out, see what you get. Should be somewhere between 6 and 12 ohms. If it's shorted or open, get a new mike.

How old are they? What radios have you had them working on in the past?

These mikes have a small circuit board in them and are not repair able.

If I remember correctly, just because they have the same type connector as for the XPR series radio, they are wired a little differant for the basic ht750/1250 and will not fully funcation.

mic

The mic would work, then not work. Would test another mic on the radio and it woudl work fine. Would test the defunct mic on a 750 and nada. So I went ahead and ordered a brand new mic off epay.... and then the defunct mic started working again just fine! I give up. I'll hold on to the new mic incase the other one goes out again. Thanks gusy
