Speaker problem - Pro-106

My speaker all of a sudden isn't working. The scanner hasn't been dropped or mishandled at all. When I plug headphones into the jack, that works just fine. But of course I'd rather listen normally than with headphones.

Have any of you had this happen before? If so, is it an easy fix?

Could be some debris inside the headphone jack preventing the contacts from coming back together.
Or the jack has lost spring tension and can't re-make the contacts.

Have to open the radio to inspect the jack for debris and maybe test continuity of the speaker.


I have a 2096 where the PC/IF jack doesn't re-close reliably so there is at least one data point that says the jacks can be a source of trouble.
