I would stay away from the mcx.
Very hard to find parts and very picky about the computer used for programming.
Back in the day they were a great radio.
I had two fast lock, 128 mode radios, one on vhf, one on uhf in my vehicle.
The vhf had an old pac-rt interfaced to it.
Had to clean connectors and reseat the boards every so often but otherwise no problems.
The best part was you could scan as many channels as you wanted.
The Spectra is another great radio.
If you have the cash, the astro spectra is the way to go.
Easy to find parts, lot's of knowledge about them and fairly recent.
Unfortunately they will not do Quick Call.
