Let's start a thread with TACTICAL CHANNELS in use on the State highways. Turnpike, Parkway and so on.

Here is one currently in use all along RT 78.

Monitoring SPEN 4 is like committing suicide by jumping out of the basement window. Useless and you wind up in the gutter with the rest of the entertainers. The best advice is just to do a good job in your driving. With all of the trunked talk groups and interop simplex/repeater resources available, they can, will, and do, switch around quite a bit. They're not as smart as they think they are - but they are smarter than the most danagerous component of any vehicle - the nut behind the wheel.

I know when NJSP did the speed traps on I-80 in Roxbury Twp. years ago they used B2-9 or B2-7

Newark or New Brunswick Tac Patrol Using B2-9 for speed enforcement.

Sounds like a big operation. Many high Rollers,got one at 97.

no more speed traps

The SP just does'nt have the manpower or time to run dedicated speedtraps anymore, if you happen to see 2 or 3 troopers in the median its not for any specific trap. speedtraps on the interstates are pretty much obsolete in NJ as any motorist can observe the flow of most traffic is usually above 85 mph which really does not require a trap just a calibrated speedometer. but when they do communicate car to car lately I mostly hear them on there new encrypted channel like at major accident scenes, last week I heard alot at a fatal truck crash on rt 80. I always l pick up alot of encrypted traffic on rt 80 in the wayne/totowa area.
