splitter

Has anyone used RS 2-way hybrid splitter, catalog # 15-1234 ? Say's uhf-vhf-fm, hybrid-splitter-combiner, 75 ohm, 5- 900 MHZ, Need new splitter for 2 scanners, 1 antenna, saw this while in store. Scan Lake County, FL.

I use a PDI splitter with 7 db of gain per output with my discone. And yes it does a great job on making up for the loss in 50 ft of LMR400. Dont have any problems on overloading.

As with any passive splitter the output(s) will be divided in half so the signal at the receivers will be attenuated. Now if the antenna height and gain improves the signal enough a splitter will give acceptable results.

Also go to your local Lowes, Home Depot, Wall*Mart and get the same one for about half the price.

K9WG- wildbillx, thank you for your replies. I will give this splitter a go, will let you know how it work's. I do live within a short distance from one of the local station's and have no problem with receiving broadcast's over the county I scan, am using RS PRO 160, and Uniden BCD996XT.

Yes - I think we'd all like to know where one gets a "splitter" that produces 7dB of gain...I assume he meant an amp with two outputs.
