Guilty as charged. Took oldest daughter to spotter class this year. I may finally have a budding ham out of 4 kids.

I am a spotter, have not received training however. I work with Iowa-SKYWARN.org. Also a Scanning Freak as well.

Local SKYWARN Repeater (Quad Cities NWS)
146.880 MHz

I am not a HAM Op so All I do is SCAN. My equipment includes a RadioShack PRO-99 and a Uniden UBC3300XLT (European Model).

If you are in Iowa and like weather we would like to see you on our site! www.Iowa-SKYWARN.org

Just took the Skywarn class on Saturday...Metro Skywarn ID# 7344. Just in time too...looks like we have the potential for some severe weather around here tomorrow.
