Springfield FD & Greene County Fire OPS Channels

As of today, it appears that all fire departments on the Greene County/Springfield 800 system now use Springfield FD's OPS channels. The departments outside of Springfield will still be dispatched on (17264) GC Fire Disp and Springfield FD will remain on their assigned talkgroups. For county units, they'll switch to a Springfield OPS channel when responding to an incident. And the county units will keep their private channels as well. I'm guessing the talkgroups assigned to Greene County Fire Tac will be added to the bottom of the shared OPS channels list.

I guess that means that dispatchers don't have to worry about patching channels anymore.

I heard somewhere that Springfield was going P25 is that true? I know there are a few P25 channels, but I'm meaning the whole system becoming P25.

It seems like I saw a news story about that not too long ago. I think that's the plan.. just not sure when it's supposed to happen.
