Hello all, I have my SDS200 all programmed up. Favorites consist of the counties I'm interested in and others. I'm hearing pretty much everything I want except for Springfield city Police and Fire. I have MOSWIN included in my favorites and I have Green County Municipalities Springfield included, and I have simulcast sites included, however I still never hear anything for Springfield city police or fire. I hear Troop D just fine and other Green county call/tone outs but 0 City. Am I missing a mode or service type, or is there a specific site I need to add? I've been working on this for over a week now combing and updating my programming Yet still nothing. Thanks.

That's weird they may be using their own frequencies or something aside from moswin that or they could have their own digital p25 repeater

Well I wondered that, But I've searched RR Database and if they are It isn't listed, Their old 800MHz system still shows but RR states that they switched to MOSWIN so, I'm not sure. Hopefully someone else is hearing them fine and they can point me in the right direction.

worst case is to get a SDR and run DSD+ on any 700/800 control channels, its possible they may be encrypted

I do know at this time Springfield has not went encrypted. Not sure if they have talked about it, but I know right now they are not. A friend of mine hears them on his Whislter WS-1065 just fine. I'm sure I'm just missing something somewhere.

Have you included the zone 4 site (a simulcast site with 7 towers) - it's the 800 MHz one here:

Is it possible that the tower he is monitoring doesn't have anyone monitoring/affiliating with the Springfield PD TG's?

Yes, the biggest thing is that you have to be listening to site(s) that are carrying Springfield's traffic. It will only broadcast on the sites that have their radios connected (affiliated) to

Ok, I can find information on RR with what you provided here, however When I look through the Database in Sentinel I don't find anything that says Greene County Simulcast 800, I looked in MOSWIN both County and Statewide and looked through everything that listed springfield. The only thing I could find was Springfield Simulcast 700. Is there a specific way to add the sites? I know which 3 of the 7 I'd like to monitor but I have no clue I guess where to find them in the Database. (Just to be sure I updated my full database for sentinel too.)

Ok I finally found Greene County Simulcast 800, New problem though. It will not let me append to favorites, or anything for that matter. It just simply does nothing when I click on anything in the right click sub menu. What on earth is going on? lol.

I found Greene County Simulcast Already in one of My favorites lists. (I'm assuming that's why it wouldn't allow me to "append to favorites" Anyway, All my Law, tac, talk, all that is turned on and I hear other trunked police. I'm still not hearing Springfield though. The list Under Greene County Simulcast 800 seems to maybe be lacking information? I'm not sure I uploaded a screen shot of my Favorites list showing what GCS800 has in it. Maybe someone else can make heads or tails? Thanks.

I may have found my own answer to this. I was able to find the Map that shows the towers locations and it gives a general radius of the coverage area. It looks like I'm just outside the coverage area by about 8 miles or so. Even though there is a Tower 6 miles away and a couple others that are in my general local area, I'm guessing these sites are highly directional in their broadcast to "steer" the signal where they want it. I may try raising my Antenna to see if I can pull anything in. Currently it is about 25' high but I'd like to get it closer to 35'. I guess we will see what happens then. Thank you all for the information, I truly do appreciate it.

Locations 1-3 on WPKP318 and Locations 1-4 on WPMH498 are the sites. They are not directional and should cover pretty much all of Greene county and the surrounding counties.
I greatly appreciate this information, although I have no idea what to do with it honestly lol. I have no idea how to program in sites manually. Based on the information you have provided I'm assuming if I can figure it out I will only need to program in the information for the Dade county tower in greenfield? That is the closest tower to me. Thanks.

I don't know how to program scanners so not much help on that but you will have to have zone 4 of MOSWIN in your radio to be able to hear Springfield/Greene County/City Utilities. You shouldn't be able to hear them on the Dade county MOSWIN tower.

As far as coverage it should be the same as it was before it was connected to MOSWIN. While the base stations are new, the frequencies, towers sites and antenna locations are not.

No. Police and Fire are on ZOne 4 and the Utilities are on Zone 4 but each has its one talkgroups. You can program to listen or not listen to each talkgroup. Take a look at the Springfield talkgroups in the database.

Another thing for the one who shared the licenses. The ones listed outside of Greene county are NOT sites. All 7 sites are in Greene county only so that’s something to keep in mind. The ones listed outside of Greene county are base stations for interop purpose.

Also, you can’t append sites to a list. You can manually add by right clicking your favorites list ajd clicking “program favorites list” the going to the system you need on the left panel click on it then click where it says sites…then click the plus button. After you add and make the new site go back to the left panel and click the new site ajd add only tue freqs listed as control channels. If you’re looking at the website those are the red highlighted freqs. You don’t have to worry about adding location info unless you plan to use GPS control on that favorites list. I have over 20 lists all pretty much custom made.

Final note. Any Greene county talk group will be heard on the Greene simulcast only. It will not be heard on any other MoSWIN sites unless specifically requested. There has been a couple exceptions during pursuits where GC PATROL 1 (GCSO talk group) was allowed to roam over to the bolivar site for extended coverage.
