Springfield cites the Iowa police ambush. That shooter was not monitoring the police, he was pissed that the police did not arrest a black teenager for standing during the national anthem (while he waved a Confederate Flag) and hunted down two parked police officers killing them in cold blood.

Bunch of hogwash. While the concerns addressed in the article are legitimate there is no reason they can't just encrypt channel 2 and keep channel 1 clear.
