SQ Repeaters

Does anyone know if they work like OPP ones do? Like when turned on you can pick up a couple km's away. I programmed the 3 from the DB but seems 1 is a beat repeater.

They generally work the same but use of the six frequencies is
flexible including simplex, different CTCSS etc. Where would the
"beat repeater" be located?

It seems to be constant in the Valleyfield area, RPT 1 from the DB.

Interesting, though I don't think they call it a "Beat" repeater,
that's OPP terminology.

There's more to it than listed in RR, can't recall which Quebec
site it's on. I'd also punch in the upper frequencies 459.475, 459.550
and 459.625 in case they're independently used.

"Quebec scanning"seems to have all the info, however i cant understand all of it, my french is not the best. I will see what i can do.

Try these for SQ mobiles.

03 454.6250

I just realized that these were the outputs, to the inputs Dave listed.

Next time your near a sitting or parked SQ car, turn on the close-call feature. Or just drive by an SQ detachment and do the same thing, if
they leave their repeaters on in the cars, like the OPP do sometimes to see if you get any hits, other then what is listed in RR. Get the PL
tones too.

There are some (around 10) "urban repeaters" as they are call in some municipalities to allow officers to "walk the beat", patrol in bicycle or ... whatever without a car repeater.

These repeaters use one of the 3 mobile repeater output already known.

And yes there is one permanent in the city of Valleyfield.
