Per announcement by Ocean County dispatch, Squad 37 (South Toms River First Aid Squad) is now being dispatched on 508.1875 PL 71.9 (County Fire/UHF EMS Dispatch) and will use County Trunk System EMS Zone 1 Talk Group for response/ops.

All of the squads dispatched by the county. I can not see Dover, Brick & Lakewood just to name a few switch over since they are self dispatched.

Not just that,Squads like Lacey,Waretown and Tri Boro First Aid are all self dispatched on 155.205 by PD,if county follows the same way they did when Fire switched self dispatching squads will switch also.

I thought that Lacey was already on it? I know that they bought the equipment a long time ago.

Lacey Ems requested to be up on uhf but was denied...I have no idea why but thats what I was told...
Doesn't sound right to me,we'll see what happens later on.

Just a edit on that...They requested sometime in early-mid 2007...I was told however the county's intention was to have all EMS that was using the vhf moved to this system...and also just to add to that i know that probably more that 90% of the firefighters that are on the uhf are not happy that everything will be on one dispatch channel...IceInferno said:

Many other counties do it that way. Burlington being one of them. It is and ego thing. Most of Maricopa County, Phoenix, is dispatched off of 1 channel.
