Squeeking on Baltimore Co. TRS

Has anybody else noticed decreased reception with some weird squeeky/popping noise on Baltimore Co's system? At first I thought it was my radio, but all my scanners are doing it, and an officer even mentioned it briefly on a tac channel a few days ago. It's going on intermittently since the weekend. I wonder if the techs are tinkering with something.

Looks like it's isolated to 859.462. Maybe more intermod problems. I can't explain any differently than a weird squeeking noise. Was wondering if anyone else hears it or if it's just my location.

I think I know what your talking about. I remember sitting here at the computer or on the couch and hearing this strange (like you said, it's hard to describe) sqeeking/squealing sound. I haven't heard it lately.

It's going on tonight....and it's severely impacting the ability of BCoPD cars to hear each other when that freq cycles up. No other trunked freq seems affected.

As of 0145, I'm not getting any unusual effects or transmissions at my location on this frequency. It's slightly less powerful than the adjacent freqs, meaning there's probably a small amount of interference between myself and the transmitter, that may be what you two are picking up.

This is interesting, because it means the source of interference must be somewhere in Baltimore County or inside the city limits, and it's only interfering with the individual radios. If the repeater was picking it up, I should be hearing it, and I'm not.

If its the noise I am hearing about every 5 transmissions then I am hearing it......Mabee its a certain repeater !!! It sounds like mice mating...
I have been hearing a strange noise for 6 months or so on this system and it only does it every 5 or 6 transmissions....
My best guess is its a repeater having trouble of some sort...

Ha ha, mice mating! :lol: Couldn't have said it better myself, that's eaxctly how it sounds. Never heard a mouse mate before though...lol

This has been happening since the weekend and they can not figure out the problem. I can hear it when I give out calls and when they talk to me, it is pretty bad. For some reason it is worse in central Baltimore County.

I've been listening for it ever since it was first mentioned but do not hear a thing different on that freq. I guess that means the source of the noise must be low power and somewhere close to a transmitter site.

I'm in Pikesville and it was pretty bad, now it's much more interspersed but still pops up every now and then.
