Squelch dial doesnt work

Hello
Would appreciate any help

Have a TrunkTracker 3

Dropped it and the squelch control doesnt work
So I get static all the time except when a message comes across

I had the same thing happen once before but it spontaneously corrected

What to do

bad squelch

My first suspicion would be broken pot/broken solder joint on the squelch pot. Uniden should be able to either repair or provide a new part. Open the cover, look for damage

Hard to believe but after reading the manual which didnt help I dropped it on the floor from countertop height twice and it started working correctly

That normally indicates a cracked board or bad internal connection (your dropping it banged things around just enough to make it work - for now). Send it in for service or you'll have intermittant issues from now on (until your "fix" permanently breaks something).

The service manual makes no reference to this repair technique.

Ya sure do seem to drop this thing alot. Any connection to Happy Hour?
