Hello,

This might be a more appropriate forum to post to, rather
than the Uniden specific one.

Hate to show everyone how dumb I am with this, but will
blame it on Sr. Citizen, very, status now.
A great excuse for most everything.

Trying to get my Home Patrol-1 going again after many years.

Questions:

I live in Sudbury, Mass., and would like to monitor our
F.D. and P.D. Really confusing for me now.

When I pull up via Sentinel what I had put into the scanner many, many years ago,
the following questions arise:

a. What does RM mean under Type ?

b. I guess, but am not sure, that I can set the mode to either P25 or just FM.
True ? Which should I use ? What is P-25 ?

Might someone please take a quick look at the Sudbury, Mass. (Middlesex County)
P.D. listing in the RR Database, and tell me how to set it up for listening.

Thanks for help; really appreciate it.

Bob

The designator of type "RM" simply indicates that both Repeaters and Mobile units are in use. Hover your mouse cursor over the word "Type" in the column header in the RR database for Sudbury for more information. In answering your second question, the RR database shows that Sudbury FD is using FM, whereas the PD is using a single-frequency P25 digital. The "NAC" designator under the "Audio Option" column in Sentinel is typically associated with P25 modes. Your entries in Sentinel should reflect these modes. In any case, I'd make sure to update your database through Sentinel if you already haven't done so.

You may get more informative and localized responses by posting to the Massachusetts forum, or having a Mod move this thread to that forum.
