I'm new to monitering edacs systems, and I have I-call on. I thought I-call ID's were all in the 7xxxxx range. So im not sure what the "i" stands for in the last set of TGID's.

Hi thanks for posting those.

I discovered this system while up in Phoenix. At the time I didn't get anything off of the system, other than the control channel at the time for site 1 was 939.90mhz. I use the Unitrunker software for helping to ID systems. It labeled this frequency as LCN05.

Are you hearing the control on a different frequency?

Are you just using a scanner or are you using software to help ID.

Thanks,
John

The skip this morning helped a little. I am showing 939.40mhz currently active as the control frequency. It is showing it is from Site 1, LCN02.

According to the frequency plan with the FCC this should be the site from Glendale. I think with EDACS, they don't label the sites so cleanly for us like Motorola does :<

I picked up a couple of TG's:

Hello,

I think the 7xxxxx is used as a way to enter an I-call ID (You enter a 7 because there is no i on the keypad). The i prefixed groups look like radio ids displayed during I-call. I have a BC396T and it displays the lower case i followed by a number during I-calls on a motorola system. It could be that older models displayed a 7 instead of an i on the display.

Hi,

Im currently hearing the control channel on: LCN 02 -- 938.9625 for the 'phx site'.
At the time of me posting these, it was on 939.4. Appears they switch the control channel often?
I am not using any software at this time, just the bct396 logging the ID's.

I cannot get the glendale site to receive at all, and im in peoria.

As far as the I-call's when I recieve them here on the Maricopa County system. They are always prefixed with a 7xxxxx (720268, ect.). I'm using 700000 as the wildcard.

So how would I go about entering these into the scanner?
Would I use the 'i' or would it be prefixed with the '7'?

Looks like you are on line, try 939.4125mhz. I am hearing the signal from Glendale via the skip down here south of Tucson.

Ok, I can apparently hear Glendale via skip today. 939.4125mhz is LCN03.

As far as switching control channels, that's not uncommon for switching every day.

Ahh you are right, this is the current active, my scanner wont lock onto it while scanning, but if I hold on this channel, I hear the control channel data.

Just not enough signal my way I guess, strange.
