Turns out that on my 396xt that control channels were not enough. I had to add a custom band plan for both sites in order for it to work. I used the one listed in this thread, and from Scannermaster.com

As soon as the new band plan was in place, everything starting tracking.

1 851.0250 854.0000 440 + 25 kHz
2 851.0125 868.9875 0 + 25 kHz

My firmware is 1.07.00, and I can't update to the newer one, (check my COM settings, yeah, right, Freescan works fine). Oh well, seems to be working now.

Thanks.

If you had updated firmware it would work without the bandplan

SRRCS site 2 (county) rebanding update part 4

The following voice frequencies were added just before midnight 10/13:
852.2500
852.3500
852.4000
853.1875
853.2625

This has been submitted to the DB.

SRRCS in the DB

Just noticed that 852.875 is listed twice in the database.
I noticed a lot of things last night when I submitted the latest frequencies.
- All four control channel frequencies are listed, even though only 2 have been activated.
- All rebanded voice channels are listed, even though 3 of them have not yet been activated.
- 852.8750 is listed twice.
- Voice transmissions are still happening on 867.x & 868.x frequencies, although not shown in the DB.

If someone is scanning w/o using cc only mode, they'll miss stuff. I expect the last 5 frequencies to be cut over tonight, so it is all kind of moot now. I did make a submission of the issue.

PRO-95s no longer work with SRRCS

Can our Pro-95 be programmed to work on the new freq's or are we required to buy a new scanner.
There are work-arounds so that you can hear something, but basically you need a new(er) scanner.

SRRCS site 2 (county) rebanding update part 5

In the past few hours the following frequencies were activated.
852.6875
852.8750
853.6875 alt control channel
853.8000 alt control channel

That leaves one more frequency to be rebanded. 853.3250 has not been activated yet. These have been submitted to the DB.

Last night was the first round of programming other people's scanners. One of my friends is the feed provider for Sac PD, Sac Sheriff, West Sac PD, Elk Grove PD, Citrus Heights PD, and Folsom PD. He has RolnCode3's old setup of 2 BC246Ts. Both required firmware updates. The scanner that had the four smaller PDs in it was deaf on 800 MHz, so it may have a blown front end. Antenna connection was fine, with no broken connections.

Another BC246T belonging to my friend is in its place now. I turned off the computer monitor near the scanners and moved the replacement 246T further away from other electronics, so hopefully reception is better than it was before.

The nice thing about the multi-site BCT15s I have is that all I had to do was create two new sites with the custom band plans, and delete the two sites with the old frequencies. Now they're chattering away. Beats having to erase and reprogram both systems with all those tac channels and alpha tags.
That's funny. Only one of those 246Ts belongs to me. The other is Ryan's. He said that his 246T was deaf on 800, but I was picking up the trunking system, so we pressed it into service for the feed. Maybe I was wrong the whole time? I dunno'.

If that 246T is no longer going to be used, I ask that it be returned to myself or Ryan (I have the serial #s for both). If you have plans to press it back into service for a feed on another band, that would be OK with me.

The one that was acting deaf looked to be in newer condition than the other one. What's even weirder is that I put an old, beat-up Radio Shack 800 MHz antenna on it last night, did a hard reset, and it started working again.

My friend (kgowen44) could really use your help to get the WSPD, FPD, EGPD, CSUS PD, TRUSD, CHPD feed working properly. We're only hearing SPD and SSD on that feed, not all the other agencies programmed in the scanner that we're supposed to hear.

Your Dell's power supply crapped out, so my friend fixed it out of pocket to keep the feed going. The SSD and SPD feed side is working properly.

Just for info, I believe the issue is with the soundcard setup in the computer and not the scanners. The scanner did have dead 800 ears prior to the reset. The issue is I am not able to get the external soundcard to work correctly. I am using the 2 soundcards installed in the computer. I would definately like to continue with the other agencies.. I will try and revisit the external soundcard again soon.. And BTW, sacsan and I would never do anything that would require needing the serial numbers. I have no need to steal the radios!

I have some USB sound cards I purchased from eBay for $1 that I could donate. If any of you (or hopefully all of you) plan to meet up next w/e I could give them to you then.

Sorry, I wasn't insinuating that I had the serial numbers to prevent anyone stealing them. I meant I have both of them so we knew whose radio went deaf. I wouldn't have left the radios and computer if I thought you weren't trustworthy!

Thank you for fixing the power supply. I bought that PC used for ~$80 bucks, so I don't know how much money I would invest. I would love to help get the agency issue sorted out. It's been a while since I've put hands on the setup, but I bet we could figure it out. If the SoundBlaster external card is toast then one of those $1 jobs is probably a good choice. I only got the SB because other feeds had used them.

Drove past some cell sites that used to cause complete receiver desense on the old frequencies. Still lost control channel momentarily, but interference was not quite as bad on the new rebanded freqs.
