Yup it sure is. I am running Unitrunker on 853.9625 right now and seeing that it is Sac City site 1 (C116).

What surprises me is that most of the frequencies being assigned are in the 867 & 868 MHz range. So I plugged the new CC into a scanner which does not understand rebanding and it is doing just fine.

UniTrunker is presently giving me 853.1625 & 853.6125 as two of the voice frequencies as well as 853.9625 as the CC. The rest of the TGs are being assigned to old frequencies. This explains how they were able to "cut over" so quickly.

Hey everyone, appreciate the updates but please be sure to submit these updates as well. Also be sure to clarify site 1 or site 2 as these come online.

Thanks!

Current status..

Yesterday, I was able to see the cc data for site-1 on 853.9625, and it worked for both groups of site-1 frequencies, but today, I'm not able to find the cc for site-1 at all.. (853.9625 or 853.9) Site-1 is just dead..

Anyone else experiencing this with site-1, or is it something I did with all the edits that I made yesterday. Site-2 is still working for me, with the old freq set..

Thanks!

In conventional mode I can hear the data channel on 853.9000 ------ Going to the "reband" site, that was scanning just fine yesterday, I can not hear the control channel when trying to monitor in trunk mode.

Ok, thanks for the info Ant! I'll just monitor site2, and wait it out..
At least I now know, it's nothing I messed up in the programming.. ;-)

Update, on the BCD396, I adjusted the "Set C-CH Only" from ON to OFF, and I now have both old and rebanded systems from site-1 working.

The rest of the TGs are being assigned to old frequencies. This explains how they were able to "cut over" so quickly.

That's because unless it is a very small system (or logical site within), it is usually impractical to reband all the bases (read channels) at once, especially if you have many geographically disparate sites in a simulcast cell. So what happens is that a few channels at a time get disabled in the system (so that they're not assigned), the controllers are updated with the new frequencies for those channels, the bases are reprogrammed and TX combining retuned, and then the channels are reenabled.

So, as the techs move through one cell and then the next and so on, one would expect to see more rebanded channels come online until all of them are done. Then and only then would the entire system infrastructure be considered rebanded (or cut over as some say).

have the county system scanning now waiting for it to light up
I am still scanning the county site with control channel frequencies above 865.999 MHz just fine. I don't expect the county frequencies to start changing until the city cut over is complete.

I am heavily monitoring the city site now and logging new frequencies as they appear. I am submitting them to the DB as I get a few. So far the following new (rebanded) frequencies have appeared:

851.0500 not enough good hits yet
851.1125 verified
851.3250 verified
851.3875 verified
851.6250 verified
851.6750 verified
851.7500 verified
851.8250 verified
852.1000 verified
852.3000 verified
853.1625 verified
853.6125 verified
853.9000 verified control channel
853.9625 verified control channel

By my count there are 9 frequencies left to cut over.

This morning I'm getting bus or transportation traffic on TGs that have normally been County Fire. Any info on new TGIDs yet? Also I've tried to get City Fire for 3 days...I know it's been in "flux"...but so far after reloading every update posted here, all I seem to get is B1 Dispatch. Any tips? This thread info has been a little scattered for me to follow. I just load my BC15X straight from RR db using FreeScan & set for ID Scan, then let it play. What am I missing here?

SRRCS update 10/07

The following additional frequencies popped up this morning on the Sacramento RRCS site 1 (city):
852.4625
852.5750
852.6375
852.9000
852.9625

Additionally 851.0500 continues to get a couple of hits per day. I have submitted all frequencies to the DB. I show only 5 more frequencies to activate.

What is happening is your scanner is not switching to the new voice frequency. You NEED to change the "band plan" in your scanner for that system/bank. If you have an older scanner that does not support rebanding (and can't accept a new bandplan) you will miss stuff and/or get the wrong voice channel.

I've mentioned over the years that older scanners CAN work with SOME rebanded 800 MHz Motorola systems. If the system is EDACS or LTR then no problem. If it is MOT, which Sacramento is, then all of the voice frequencies must NOT fit the format of 8xx.xxx0 MHz. But, when things are all switched over we will have the following (voice) frequencies which older scanners won't be able to find: 851.0500, 851.3250, 851.6250, 851.6750, 851.7500, 851.8250, 852.1000, 852.3000, 852.5750, 852.9000, 853.1000, 853.7750 & potentially 853.9000. That's 13 of the 24 frequencies!!!!

I don't see that exact model in the Wiki. Does it support rebanding? Did you change the band plan? If you need further info on how to do it, I suggest you start a new thread in the Uniden section so we keep this one on topic.

Personally, I'm waiting til the reband is complete and then I'll fiddle with my 396XT , got another week (or more) til things are complete.

For whatever reason I am picking up the city sites better on the new frequencies as well. But I am too close to two different county sites for the city to come in better.

SRRCS Update 10/8

New frequencies today for SRRCS site 1 (city):
852.7125
852.7375
853.1000
853.7125 control channel
853.7750 expected control channel

This has been submitted to the DB.

This should complete the change-over of all City site frequencies. Now I suspect the county sites will start to change. It will be Deja vu all over again.

Now that the Site 001 changeover is complete, I have programmed one BCT8 with all the frequencies (CC OFF), and one BCD396T with the 4 highest frequencies only (CC ON). Both scanners are working flawlessly so far.
