Now that the Site 001 changeover is complete, I have programmed one BCT8 with all the frequencies (CC OFF), and one BCD396T with the 4 highest frequencies only (CC ON). Both scanners are working flawlessly so far.

On the 396T What are your settings?

-Do you have all freq programmed or just Control Channels?
-Custom Fleet Map?

I seem to be having some issues - Not hearing all the traffic

I'm missing a lot of traffic - Currently have just the control channels programmed and TGIDs

For the 396T, I followed the directions at the bottom of the 3.02.02 firmware update instruction page here: BCD396TFirmwareUpdate < UnidenMan4 < TWiki. It's at the very bottom of the page. You only need to create Band Plans 1 and 2 shown in the directions, using the settings specified. I only programmed the 4 highest frequencies as control channels, figuring that they would be the ones used like they were before rebanding. I put in 853.9625, 853.900, 853.775, and 853.7125. I set Control Channel Only to "On".

Be sure to follow the directions on the firmware update page to the letter. ;)

SRRCS Bandplan

If someone is creating the bandplan by hand, rather than using one that might be pre-programmed; I'd use the following:

BASE: 851.0125
LO: 0
HI: 439
SPACING: 25.00

BASE: 851.0250
LO 440
HI: 559
SPACING: 25.00

For whatever reason I am picking up the city sites better on the new frequencies as well. But I am too close to two different county sites for the city to come in better.

I'm also receiving a better signal from the new site 1 850 freq range. Can't wait until site 2 cuts over. Hoping that this change, with already heard improvements, will reduce the noise crashes and receiver desense that I experience with both my 246 and 396t, that come from adjacent cell transmitter sites.. (I think the older Uniden's are the hardest hit by this anomaly..) Still saving for a 396xt, with it's tighter receiver spec.... ;-)

Just programmed the 4 highest frequencies for Site 002 in my BC346XT, which is a control channel only scanner. So far it's working great. All the voice channels are the old frequencies, just like when they started the rebanding process on Site 001.

antfreq, were you able to get your 396 working on Site 001?

Now they're back on the old 868.5375 control channel.

EDIT: Back to 853.875
Looks like they are bouncing back and forth a bit. They just went back to 853.8750

I have my 396XT programmed as if it were a custom reband, but I have the old control channels as well as the new ones. Seems to be working right now.

I have the rest of my scanners on the old frequencies still. Right now they're quiet and the BC346XT is chattering away. That scanner and my 396XT are the only ones that can be rebanded without having to delete the system and reprogram from scratch. I have a BCT15X which I believe is the same way, but it's being used for conventional frequencies right now.

When they switched back to the old frequency, I was still able to hear the groups. I figure I'll try it out this way for now, then remove the old frequencies once they complete the re-band.

I was also able to hear them normally on the BCT15 when they did the temporary switch back to 868.5375. Now that scanner is quiet, of course.

I have a lot of scanners to reprogram, so I'm holding off on the others until the reband is complete.

I have a rock solid 10 on a scale of 1-10 receiving 853.8750 (@ 07:50) with 99% decode (highest it goes). It sounds like you are programmed off a bit.

You should start a new thread on your issue. And in that thread tell us what model scanner you are using. Many older scanners will NOT be able to trunk track this new system. You can scan the frequencies, but the scanner won't automatically calculate the proper voice channel. Newer scanners will work, but you have to program in the correct band plan.
