ss + scanning

I thought I read in the pdf manual that you can scan programmed frequencies while using the signal stalker, when I tried it at the store I didn't know how to do it. Seems I read something like hitting func and scan three times in sequence to do it. I have a pro 95 and a pro 83 (and an old pro 46). Can anyone verify that this can be done like my 83 does? It seems from what I've read in this forum that you can only be in scan mode or signal stalker mode but not both. Thanx.

On the Pro-83, while the radio is scanning, hit the FUNC button, then hit the HOLD button. The little SignalStalker icon will come appear in the upper right of the display and the radio will continue scanning. Hit FUNC,Hold again, and the scanner goes into SignalStalker only mode. Hitting Func/Hold a third time puts it back in regular scanning (no SignalStalker) mode.

so Signal Stalker works “in the background” while you are
scanning other frequencies; turn off normal scanning while
Signal Stalker works; or turn off Signal Stalker and use the
scanner normally.' I guess the 97is different? wtf

They are quite different. The PRO-2051 is a glorified Uniden BCT8. The PRO-97, is a totally new design by GRE, for Radio Shack. The PRO-97 also covers Mil-Air, where the PRO-2051 does not.
