Has anybody been monitoring St. Clair Co. dispatch since the first of the month? The switched to the NIMS recommended plain speech dispatching. It seems to be a problem for a few dispatchers, and some of the recommended phrasology is corny.

Instead of 10-4, some of the dispatchers are saying 'Acknowledgement', which is awkward and sounds silly. Others are saying "copy your transmission", or just "copy". The rest of the stuff is pretty clear, but takes up more air time.

yeah Acknowledge is kind of a mouth full. Most plain language departments just use ok, or message received or they just use the current time. Like @ 02:21. Plus I thought that plain language policy hit the dumpster?
