Late this afternoon I am hearing practice "computer voice" dispatching on TG 10213. Oh my, even the city is heading that direction.
I was roughly used to it pretty quickly, but it made me a bit sad I couldn't use my CDM1250 to listen to the analog channels. I had a 436HP but it sucks with simulcast so I was a bit screwed here for a bit. I ended up buying an SDS about a month ago and I do like it alot when it comes to the simulcasting.I have learned to tolerate Central County's implementation, but I absolutely hate St. Charles County's. Unfortunately I live too far west to pick up the STL City sites. Maybe that's a good thing!
That is certainly odd. I was the one that actually found out about the auto dispatching for JeffCo. They used to use the same voice as Central County but now it has switched to a male voice, not sure what the name of the voice is but yes.I am in the same boat. Here in the city (and in my low elevation) I can easily receive both city sites. St. Charles, no. St. Clair Co, no. Jeff Co, if the wind blows just right I can hear dispatch only. Very frustrating because when I travel to Laclede Co, MO I can receive 10 or more MOSWIN sites.
When traveling to St Charles their SLATER site sounds as if it is overmodulating. Almost hurts your ears.
The two new TG's for city FD & EMS will now come into play. They call them EMS main and fire main. Similar to Central County E911. Guess we will see. I hope they pick a voice that's a bit more soothing. Ha.
Another note. For most of the evening last night I was hearing JeffCo fire dispatch on TG 12513, (I think), which I think is also Ops 7. But what I found interesting was, I was hearing it on St Louis Co SLATER south. Quite interesting.
I can see fire dispatch going automated and it makes sense but listening to EMS dispatch, I can't see them automated, it's a cluster now.I am in the same boat. Forgot to mention but I haven't really seen any action at all from 10213. I can take a look because I may have made a typo when programming it in.That is certainly odd. Ive never seen it on the South site for St Louis County before. Ill keep an eye out for it when I get home.
I will post more info about the City once I get home from school and once Ive received something from that system
