St. Louis City Fire

I just got an SDS100. I added a favorites list for MOSWIN using Sentinal but I have not heard any St. Louis City Fire Department.
Do they use the Talk groups listed? I hear Metro and Highway Patrol Troup C but no City Fire.

Are you scanning just the City Simulcast (2-1) and City ISR towers (2-5)? The city departments are only on those sites.

I am scanning everything on MOSWIN. I used sentinel to add MOSWIN as a favorite. I tried it with location on and off. It makes no difference. The city simulcast is included but so is St. Louis Fire Department with about 22 Channels listed.

Hit Zip, punch in your zipcode and hit enter. Let it scan until it gets to MOSWIN. Hold on that system. St. Louis Fire/EMS should be on shortly talking on one of the sites. Make sure you have the distance set to 25 miles or something like that. Enjoy listening to it that way. (This is not the best way to do it but at least you will be hearing them.)

Then watch a Youtube video on how to program with Sentinel so you can get the correct tower(s) programmed in to listen to St. Louis city Fire. It is not difficult but there are several steps you need to figure out first. There is a bit of a learning curve with these scanners.

Hi & welcome to the RR forums:
Ensure Fire Dispatch and Fire-Tac (and EMS Dispatch if so inclined) service types are turned on otherwise the scanner won't scan those talkgroups

Thanks for the help. After getting help from @bdzig we determined that I am too far from the city to pick them up. I am about 10 miles direct to the edge of the city, but the city towers only cover slightly outside the city not all the way to my house. I am about 6 miles from the edge of the coverage of the tower according to the map.
