Looking for info on St. Louis FD fireboats.
How many, names, history, radio call signs, etc.
Specifically interested in knowing if the "Phelim O' Toole" is still in service, or was
it retired when the "Jack Buck" was acquired.
Also, was there in fact a fireboat named after the "White Cloud"?
Still in service??

Thanks for any info, it's appreciated!!!

I couldn't find anything about a "White Cloud" fire boat, but it appears that the "Jack Buck" was an addition to the fleet, not a replacement. According to waymarking.com, the "Phelim O'Toole" was obtained from the U.S. Coastguard in 1994 so its not that old. The site also claims that the St. Louis Fire Department has two main fire boats with the other one being the "Jack Buck" (a much smaller Boston Whaler), but according to the St. Louis Department of Public Safety (of which the SLFD is a part), the Bureau of Fire Suppression, Rescue, & Emergency Services has 3 fire boats (but does not name them).

If you just gotta know, the Bureau of Fire Suppression, Rescue, & Emergency Services phone number is 314-533-3406

The "White Cloud" fire boat is a relatively small, trailer-pulled vessel. I am not 100% on the make/model of the boat. It is still in front line service. It was named after the Steamer Boat "White Cloud" that caught fire and sparked the Great Fire of 1849.
